A few things we have learned along the way…
•Don’t wait to the last minute to purchase your cardstock, safety pins, or other supplies. Many local stores sell out a few weeks before Lilybugs!
•Get hangers for FREE at dry cleaners. Just call ahead and make arrangement to pick up. Remeber we only accept wire hangers.
•Check Lilybugs Facebook page for updates on any items we may be selling to help you!
•If you are having trouble printing tags, check out local printers and shipping locations. They can print the tags and cut them for you too.
•Spray off large yard toys with your water hose.
•Use household cleaners like 409 to get dirt and grim off.
•Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is a GREAT tool for cleaning plastic toys!
•Goo Gone removes adhesive tags, marks, scrapes off plastic toys, etc.
•WD-40 removes crayon marks with ease.
•Use baby wipes to get the loose dirt free.
•Wash fabric shoes in your washing machine if they need an extra wash!
•Use cleaner with a little “grit” like Ajax to get those black streaks off white patent shoes.
•Use Armor-All to make patent and leather shoes SHINE!
Stains on washable fabrics
•OxiClean to get them bright & clean!
•Clorox Bleach Pen for little stains on white fabrics.
•Goop to release those grease stains.
•Make sure all toys have fresh batteries. Parents want to know they are taking home a toy that will make for hours of enjoyment!
•Clean minor dirt, flaws, and germs away with child friendly cleaners.
•Package small toys together and sell as a set!
Make your items sell better:
•Iron or steam clothes. Wrinkles can make an item look too worn which is often not the case.
•Make an outfit! Group cute bottoms and tops together, add socks, and price to sell. Shoppers love seeing an outfit ready to put on their little one.
•Stuff the toes of your shoes with tissue or paper so shoppers can see the true shape and look when little toes are inside!
•Group like colors and styles together for socks, hair accessories, and other small items. Appearance is HUGE selling point!
•Stuff your diaper bags, backpacks, etc. to show their shape.
•Consider printing on the tag (in the description area) how many pieces are included in the set (example: 2pc Outfit, 20 pc. Toy set). Shoppers want to know what they are getting.
•Tie pink or green curling ribbon around the tops of your BOUTIQUE items! This allows them to stand out among the crowd & allows the shopper to know she is getting a great deal for high-end items.
•Better brands sell better!! Consider the brands while pricing.
•PRESENTATION MATTERS! Look at each piece through the eyes of a shopper- items falling off hangers, wrinkled, have odor, or are covered with pet hair or dust won’t sell and may not be accepted during the inspection process. Make your items look like they just came off the rack from the original retailer; we guarantee you will sell better and make more money!
